The pace of this week is... mixed. Just about everything is boxed up, so there is less that I could be doing without unpacking random bins. Which I'm totally okay with. However, the office is buzzing around, frantically searching for empty recepticles in which to stash their items.
Our department is slated to do the swicharoo tomorrow evening, from 6pm-12am. I'm very much hoping it does not go quite until 12am, especially since yes, Friday is a regular workday where I get to start UNpacking everything in the new space.
Ah, the new space - just lovely. Our suite is much larger than we originally thought, and with my coordinator and me on opposite sides, there is more privacy. We'll have our own workroom to keep our file cabinets, and an obscenely large blank space in the suite itself. Space enough to fit a hippo, if 1) hippos were allowed in law firms, 2) if said hippo could get up the escalator), and 3) if the hippo stayed perfectly still.
We're just around the corner from our "coffee bar," which are on every floor. This is, in essence, a glorified kitchenette. But a lovely new one at that.
We also have the fortune of having our very own in-house catering company on the premises, Seasons. They do all the big-shot law firms in the area. This means that we can buy breakfast or lunch every day. And prices are below market, so it's more economical than trudging outside for something. The only downside to this is that... well.... all the food looks really good. They gave us a sample menu of what they'll have, and they are making it really easy for me to pig out on all the bad (but oh-so-good) stuff. Sure, they'll offer at least one steamed veggie option a day, but watch them put it right next to the onion rings and french fries.
Alright - back to playing with bubble wrap!
